Billie Joe win "Favorite Replacement" in Audience Choice Award

Last night Broadway.com held a ceremony to announce the winners of their 2011 Audience Choice awards in New York City. Billie Joe won the "Favorite Replacement" award where he was nominated for his run as St. Jimmy in the American Idiot musical.

Billie Joe played the role from January - February in 2011, as well as the final 3 weeks of the show in April till it's closing April 24th.

Yeah, Green Day Wins at MTV's 2011 Musical March Madness !!

Congratulations to all fans Green day. We heroes win they are the Champion now at the 2011 MTV's Musical March Madness !!  .Green Day ended up winning by less than 2,500 votes.

After the first round beat Adam Lambert, U2, Blink 182, Panic At The Disco, and Disturbed in semifinal. And now Green day defeat Paramore in final. I'm sure Green Day are proud to have so many dedicated fans on their side.

Dookie comes in at number 193 in Rolling Stone's top 500 albums of all time

Recently, Rolling Stone made a list of their "Top 500 Albums of All Time". Green Day's album Dookie came in at number 193 on the list.

Rolling Stone said:

"The California trio Green Day sold plenty of tickets and indie records on their own, but nothing they did before or since had the impact of their major-label debut. The skittish Dookie was recorded in little more than three weeks, and singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong blazed through all the vocals in two days. "Right from getting the drum sound, everything seemed to click," their A&R man Rob Cavallo marveled."

American Idiot cast album nominated for "Best Musical Show Album" in Grammy Award

The American Idiot cast album has been nominated for "Best Musical Show Album". Other nominees include "Sondheim on Sondheim", "Fela!", and "Promises, Promises".

The Recording Academy's Best Musical Show Album is awarded to the Album Producer(s), and to the Lyricist(s) & Composer(s) of 51% or more of a new score. Last night the nominees were announced and we're happy to share that Green Day as the composers and Billie Joe Armstrong as lyricist have been nominated for the Original Broadway Cast Recording: American Idiot (Featuring Green Day)! This is the 19th nomination Green Day has received from the Recording Academy since 1995!

If Green Day wins the award, technicly speaking this would not be the first Grammy that the band has received for the songs in the musical. 'American Idiot' won a Grammy in 2005 for "Best Rock Album" and '21st Century Breakdown' won a Grammy in 2010 for "Best Rock Album".

Green Day win Best Live Act at the Q Awards

 Green Day has won 'Best Live Act' at the 2010 Q Awards. They were nominated alongside Kasabian, Lady Gaga, Muse and Pendulum. Billie Joe said

"Yes we are the best live act in the world and thanks a lot for recognising that"

They were also nominated for Best Act in the World, but that award went to Kasabian. Full of winners can be read here.

The United Kingdom music magazine Q is currently holding a poll for their readers to decide the winners of the Q Awards 2010. Green Day is nominated in two categories, 'Best Live Act' and 'Best Act In The World Today'

Jimmy Fallon dresses up as Billie Joe at the Emmy's

Jimmy Fallon is hosting the 62th annual Emmy's award at 29 august 2010, and he opened up with a musical intro saying good bye to all the TV shows that were cancelled or finished this year. He started out playing the piano as Elton John, and ended up dressed as Billie Joe (black clothes, red tie, poofy hair), and "sang" Time Of Your Life.

Billboard Celeb Tattoo Tour

Billie Joe has made tattoo artist Kat Von D's top 20 celebrity tattoos list . At number 10 on her list, she talks about Billie's "photo booth" tattoo on his right arm. 

'"It sort of looks like a photo booth," says Von D. "I like it because it's very graphic and very pop art-esque. It almost reminds you of an Andy Warhol painting but I'd be curious to find out who that is." The picture is a filmstrip of Billie Joe's wife, Adrienne.'

'21st Century Breakdown' video MTV VMAs

Green Day's music video for "21st Century Breakdown" has been nominated for Best Special Effects at next month's MTV Video Music Awards. The video, which was released last October, is the fourth video released from the 21st Century Breakdown album. The video was directed by Marc Webb who also has done Waiting, 21 Guns, and Last of the American Girls.

Green day Radies American "Breakdown"

 After a Friday (7/30) appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," Green Day [ tickets ] will launch a summer stadium tour of both North and South America in support of last year's "21st Century Breakdown."

The band -- singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool -- kick off the trek Aug. 3 in Camden, NJ. The 18-city U.S. portion, which includes an Aug. 7 appearance at Chicago's Lollapalooza, wraps up Sept. 4 in San Francisco. After a month-long break, the trio will work its way through South America, beginning with an Oct. 8 performance in Caracas, Venezuela.

Tickets for most U.S. shows are available now via Live Nation. Green Day unveiled "21st Century Breakdown," the group's eighth studio effort, in May 2009. The set, which topped The Billboard 200 and several international charts, marked the band's first collection of new material since 2004's "American Idiot."

Earlier this year, Green Day took home a Grammy for Best Rock Album for the recent release. The group's Green Day Rock Band video game is currently in the running for Best Video Game at the Teen Choice Awards, which airs Aug. 9 on Fox.

Green Day performing at the Tony Awards

Green Day will be performing live on the Tony Awards this Sunday on CBS. The ceremony starts at 8:00pm EST.
 

The American Idiot musical will also perform at some point during the night. The musical is nominated for Best Musical, Best Scenic Design, and Best Lighting Design.

By the articles online and ads on TV, the Tony Awards and CBS seem to be pretty stoked to have Green Day attending and performing on Sunday.
